Simon joined IGES in July 2011 where the focus of his work has been urban environmental sustainability through his involvement in the ASEAN ESC Model Cities Programme which works to promote environmentally sustainable cities (ESC) across the ASEAN region. His remit is broad and he is or has been involved in areas as diverse as green growth, environmental knowledge management, city based greenhouse gas inventories and urban recycling policies amongst others. Prior to IGES he received his MA in International Development from the University of East Anglia in 2007 and has worked in a variety of fields most notably business intelligence and education in both the UK and China.
